WNBA Thursday Night Los Angeles Sparks vs Connecticut Sun Connecticut had the worst start to the 2020 WNBA season, losing their first five games before roaring back to finish with an 10-12 overall record and the No. 7 seed in the playoffs. And powered by the strength and leadership of Thomas and Bonner — two bigs who have proven themselves more than capable of creating their own shot — the Sun sent the Sky packing in the first round. But the Sparks are a much tougher challenge, with a deep roster of Nneka Ogwumike, Candace Parker, Seimone Augustus, Chelsea Gray, Sydney Wiese and more. WNBA Thursday Night Los Angeles Sparks vs Washington Mystics Washington’s time in the Bubble is coming to an end. With only three games left the Mystics are looking to end a rough-season with a few more wins. Washington is coming off a 3-points win against a dominant Lynx squad. What’s even more impressive is that they were able to outscore Minnesota in three quarters with only eight players. Myisha Hines-Allen went off with 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Emma Meesseman and Ariel Atkins followed with 18 points each. The last time they played the Sparks was Aug. 13, where they lost 64-81. The Mystics were led by Ariel Atkins with 20 points. Emma Meesseman and Myisha Hines-Allen added 12 and 10 points respectively. The trio were the only players to score in double-figures. For Los Angeles, no particular player that had a big game but there were five players that managed to score in double-figures, which made all the difference. WNBA Tuesday Night New York Liberty vs Los Angeles Sparks It’s officially official. The New York Liberty are way down in the standings and were officially knocked out of the playoff race with a loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday night. We knew this season was going to be one of examination for the Liberty, but it’s still a shame we didn’t get to see them at full strength for the duration of it. The opponent tonight will be the Los Angeles Sparks. LA is near the top of the standings and one of the favorites to win the championship this season. They took care of business with an impressive win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday night. WNBA Sunday Night Los Angeles Sparks vs Chicago Sky The Los Angeles Sparks and Chicago Sky are both headed to the playoffs, but each needs to start playing better than it's been of late in order to build some momentum for the postseason. Losers in two of three, the Sparks try to hand the Sky a third consecutive defeat on Sunday night at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Los Angeles (13-5) was the hottest team in the "Wubble" for most of August. The Sparks won nine a row from Aug. 9-30, but have dropped two of the last three since that impressive run. WNBA Friday Night Los Angeles Sparks vs Seattle Storm Entering the contest on a two-game losing streak, the Sparks are back to .500 on the season at 4-4. They got Candace Parker back for their last game against the Washington Mystics, but were still crushed at home. It's been an up and down season for the Sparks, and that will only continue as they try to adjust to Parker's return. As for the Storm, they're still without many of their key players. Breanna Stewart, of course, is out for the season, while Sue Bird may miss the entire campaign as well due to knee surgery. WNBA Friday Night Connecticut Sun vs Los Angeles Sparks With the WNBA ready to return to action from its boycott, the Los Angeles Sparks look to extend the longest active winning streak in the league when they try for an eighth consecutive victory on Friday night against the Connecticut Sun at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Los Angeles (10-3) was scheduled to play Minnesota and Connecticut (6-8) was slated to meet Phoenix on Wednesday. However, those two contests and one other game were boycotted by players in the wake of the police shooting involving 29-year-old Jacob Blake from Kenosha, Wis., on Sunday, and the unrest and violence that followed in the city.
