The Celtics looked like a completely different basketball team in Game 5 on Friday. After playing hot potato with the ball and turning it over 19 times in the previous game, they played with more discipline and cleaned up their act to avoid elimination from the playoffs. They only gave away 11 turnovers in their bounce-back 121-108 victory, while also forcing 13 turnovers from the Heat.
The Heat are sadly mistaken if they don’t think the pressure is on them on Sunday.
A Game 7 essentially restarts the series and pulls everything into a one-off contest. Teams get hot randomly over the course of a season. The last thing the Heat need is going into a game against a Celtics team capable of burying them from long-distance. Imagine coming this far just to see the entire season go up in smoke due to an opponent’s hot shooting night.
