FC Bayern Munich and Sevilla FC will face off for the 2020 UEFA Super Cup at Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Germany, on Thursday, September 24 (9/24/2020).
The Super Cup features the winners of the 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League (Bayern Munich) and the 2019-2020 UEFA Europa League (Sevilla) to determine the best team across the two UEFA leagues. The winners get gold medals and the winning club gets a €5,000,000 prize.
This year marks the 45th UEFA Super Cup, which was originally scheduled for August in Portugal, but was delayed and relocated due to the coronavirus pandemic in Europe.
Bayern Munich is favored to win after a ridiculous season and non-stop wins since December. They were the only squad to finish 6-0 in groups and they dominated every game in the knockout bracket by at least a 3-goal lead, except for the finals which they won 1-0 against Paris Saint-Germain.
