After beating Atlético-GO on Wednesday, São Paulo saw the pressure for better results be reduced, but they know they need to be more consistent on the pitch to regain the fans' confidence. So far, there have been five games, three for Paulistão and two for Brasileirão, with two wins and three draws. Results yield a 60% utilization.

Glued to the top of the table, the two teams deal with pressure, but come from opposite results in the middle of the week. While Tricolor beat Atlético-GO and ended a sequence of seven games without a win, Verdão fell to Botafogo and lost their unbeaten record in the competition. In the table, Fernando Diniz's team is in 4th place with 23 points, while Luxembourg is in 5th place with 22 points.

The stage weighs for the classic. Since the inauguration of Allianz Parque in 2014, São Paulo has never beaten homeowners there. The best result was a tie, with a penalty shootout, in the semifinals of the 2019 Paulista Championship. There are eight more victories by Verdão.
